Woorooma Site Plane Notes.

A) Location of defined areas

B) Toilet Locations.
Toilets will be of a temporary nature situated well back from the high water mark.

C) Parking.
The festival has two basic camping zones.

Car Free Camping
Parking for the Car Free Camping zone will be at the edge of the tree line on the grass plain

Camping with Vehicles (Gypsy Zone).
This area in within the tree line. It is the intention that the campers camp with their car and move only to go home. The vehicles are permitted into the area only twice.

All car movement on the site is discouraged.

D) Road Signs.
Discrete but noticeable signs will be placed on the highway to direct attendees to the site.

E Roads on Site.
The existing road and tracks will suffice. No new roads or tracks are foreseen.
The access road and tracks will be repaired as necessary.

Woorooma Development Costs
About the only things that may be left permanently on the site are water pipes ($4000(

Total cost of the festival is approximately $70,000 for a Summer Festival and $50,000 for an Autumn Festival. The expenditure varies with each festival.

Woorooma Waste Disposal
Pits are used for toilets, compose and sullage.

Down To Earth has a policy that encourages most attendees including the market vendors to take their garbage home with them.

There a waste bins hired for festival to dispose on any other garbage. These bins are delivered and removed by a contractor.

Woorooma Health
Toilets are pits toilets. The pits are 2 metres long, 460mm wide and 2 metres deep.
The pits are earth capped (filled in) after each festival.

Grey water is deposed of by either a sullage pit or if the weather agrees, ground soakage.

Showers are outdoor showers with ground soakage.

Hot water is provided by each food vendor.

The water supply to showers and wash taps will be either treated water from the Edwards river or from a bore. In either case the water will be treated if necessary to make it potable. Drinking water will be carted by an approved contractor.

Woorooma Traffic Numbers.
Approximately 1500 vehicles are expected to attend each festival. The vehicles are expected to arrive over three days maximizing late one afternoon with about 10 vehicles at a time arriving in 5 to 10 minute intervals.

There will be some movement of vehicles leaving and returning to the site. This will be at it highest during the first two festivals as the festival attendees show interest in the new location but will reduce for later festival. Possible at its peek 200 vehicles a day will be involved in day trips.

The bulk of the vehicle movement on site will be attendees arriving and leaving. Most attendees do not move their vehicles after arriving on site except to go home.

Woorooma Festival Dates.

There are two festivals each year.

The summer festival runs over the new year for seven days and usually start on the 28th or 29th of December. The intention is to start no earlier than th 28th of December, run for seven days and finish by the Wednesday after New Years Day.

The autumn festival always runs from and including Easter Friday to Easter Tuesday.

Woorooma Alcohol.
Excessive use of alcohol is discouraged at the festival. No alcohol will be sold at the festival.

Woorooma Safety Plan.
The Safety Plan will be built with the assistance of advice from local authorities. In the past we have contacted the local Police and provided contact names and telephone numbers. The emergency contact C.D.M.A Mobile telephone is turned on an attended at all times. The fire authorities have advised us that in the case of an emergency, to gather the festival attendees in one location close to the river and wait for further advice. A load hailer, two way radios word of mouth are used to communicate with the attendees when necessary. Medical emergencies are processed by trained first aid volunteers with the assistance of doctors attending the festival.
Woorooma Structual Details.
No permanent structures are forseen at this stage.
If such a need does occur, a separated permit will be sought.
