Volunteer Job Descriptions needed to hold ConFab.
Please read and see were you can help.
Ask for the Coordinator and help with any of the tasks on the list.

Setting Up & Admission Collection.

Volunteers are needed to collect the Plastic curtain & two oblong tables from  the storage shed &  to be installed in foyer area.  The cash tin, pens & yellow attendance envelopes can be obtained from the DTE suitcase also located in the storage shed.
Volunteers are required to do half hour shifts (7pm to 7:30,  7:30 to 8:00, 8pm to 8:30 & 8:30 till 9pm).  The job is to collect admission moneys & record first names of attendees & if required to issue an coloured arm band.
Completed envelopes should be sealed & signed by the volunteer, to be collected  by the co-ordinator.
The two oblong tables are used to store food until supper time when they are carried into the pool area for participants to share (the food).

Food Tables.

At about 8:40pm , we need 4 or 6 volunteers to prepare food & drinks for consumption.
Packets are to be opened, plastic wrap removed, dips etc have the lids removed & cake etc to be sliced into edible proportions.  Any other loose food can be placed in suitable containers.

At about 9:30pm the remaining food & drinks should be cleared away & the tables washed down & dried, prior to being carried back to the storage shed.

Hot Drinks Area.

Volunteers are required to set up, maintain & put away; the drinks table, hot water urn, plastic crates containing coffee, teas, milk, hot chocolate, sugar etc.
It is recommended that two volunteers carry the wooden table from the storage shed to an area adjacent with the pool supervisors enclosure, which is close to the rear sliding glass door.

The Hot water Urn may be filled with warm water from the family changing rooms which are close by, using the white 20 litre bucket.  The bucket is also used to catch hot water drips from the urn tap but not to be used as a rubbish bin or for lees from tea & coffee.

The drinks table should be set up to facilitate the orderly flow of people availing themselves of hot drinks-  a diagram showing the recommended position of items will be produced in due course.
Half hourly monitoring of drinks area is suggested  replenish, milk, sugar & cups, as needed.
Volunteers are required at about 9;45pm to wash & dry spoons, knives & food containers.  To pack away all drinks, containers & equipment; to empty urn & wipe out.  Al items should be repacked to plastic crates & taken back into the storage shed.  Tea towels & cleaning items should be placed on top of plastic crates to assist with drying.
The wooden table should be also replaced alongside the wall in the storage shed.

Massage Tables.

Ten massage tables, two trolleys, mats, oil & containers need to be moved from the storage shed & set up in the concourse area.
Prior to the evenings conclusion (about 10pm) these tables, mats etc. need to be moved back to the storage shed, secured with the chains provided & locked together with the trolleys.
Individual oil containers need to be refilled at the beginning of the evening & placed under the massage tables within plastic tubs (to contain oil spills etc.)
Mats should be placed between the massage tables to limit oil spillage &  to provide a firm foothold on the ceramic tiled floor.
Assistance with the movement of tables, setting up, packing away & filling oil containers should be directed to Colin, who regularly does this important job.

Music.

A volunteer is needed to collect the music player from the pool equipment room & to play suitable background music for the duration of the evening.  This needs to be monitored for volume & changing discs, as required.

Curtains.

At the commencement & conclusion of our evenings; the curtains blocking the windows surrounding pool ; need to be drawn & re opened, by a volunteer.

Purchase of Supplies.

A volunteer is needed for the replenishment of coffee, milk, Milo, drinking  chocolate, sugar & various varieties of tea as required.
Care should be taken not to over stock supplies, especially in regard to "use by dates".

Reimbursement for supplies can be made in cash, in exchange for receipts, during the regular ConFab evenings.  A written list of items that need to be purchased can be obtained  from the Coordinator or his assistant.
